Achieve your very first solo flight with a structured, safety-focused program led by current and former airline pilots. Training follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the aircraft Pilot’s Operating Handbook (POH), giving you the right habits and precision from the start.

This program is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the Hong Kong Professional Airline Pilots Association (HKPAPA). With the statutory authority of a government-recognized organization and the professional strength of HKPAPA, the course provides official recognition, international standards, & strict safety supervision.
COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
10 hours of flight training + 20 hours of ground school (including simulator sessions).

After completion, you can progress to an SPL (Sport Pilot Licence), PPL (Private Pilot Licence), or prepare for airline cadet pilot programmes such as the Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Programme.

Who This Course Is For

Ground School Overview
Our comprehensive 20-hour Ground School covers all essential topics to prepare you for both theoretical and practical flying:

Practical Flight Training
Flight Training (approx. 10 hours)

Abnormal scenario practice: wind shear, high/low corrections

Pre-solo assessment: procedures, handling, decision-making, and safety standards
Note: Solo authorisation is at the instructor’s discretion and based on safety and proficiency. The flight hours above are typical but may vary depending on individual progress.
Operate and navigate according to SOP and POH.
Develop situational awareness (SA) and sound aeronautical decision-making (ADM).
Communicate using standard radio phraseology.
Successfully complete your First Solo Flight after instructor evaluation.

All cockpit instruments and operating systems are in English, fully aligned with airline Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Pilot Operating Handbook (POH). This allows students to become familiar with airline standards early, ensuring a seamless transition to airline training.
English Instruments and Standard Procedures
Students may choose study materials, checklists, and instruction in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or English. However, for those preparing for airline cadet programmes, training and interview preparation are conducted in English to meet airline requirements.

The programme follows a fixed and structured timetable, progressing step by step. Students must complete the required ground school sessions before starting flight training, ensuring both knowledge and technical skills are well developed.
