Getting started
Do I need any experience to start?
No. Most of our students start with zero flying experience — including children as young as four. Our programmes are built as a step-by-step pathway, from a first cockpit experience right through to a pilot licence and airline selection. You choose the entry point that matches your age and goal, and our airline-pilot instructors take it from there.
What's the youngest age you take?
Our Youth Simulator Programme starts from age 4. The Aerospace Ambassador Programme is for ages 8 and up. Licence-track training (First Solo, SPL, PPL) is for older teens and adults. If you're unsure which is right, message us and we'll point you to the best starting point.
How do I book or enrol?
The fastest way is WhatsApp at +852 6934 3039, or email info@hkpapa.com. Tell us the participant's age and what you're hoping to do, and we'll recommend a programme and available dates.
Programmes & ages
What is the Youth Simulator Programme?
It's our entry programme for children aged 4+: six one-on-one sessions with an airline pilot in a cockpit simulator, ending in a simulated first solo. It builds real stick-and-rudder feel, aviation vocabulary and confidence — in a safe, ground-based setting. The fee is HK$9,000. See the programme →
What is the Aerospace Ambassador Programme (AAP)?
The AAP is our flagship youth pathway for ages 8+, combining ground school, simulators, restricted-area visits and a real light-aircraft trial flight. It comes in two tiers — Comprehensive (HK$30,000) and Condensed (HK$15,000). Published prices are higher; we almost always run an early-bird offer, so ask us for the current rate. Explore the AAP →
Can I actually fly a real aircraft?
Yes. Beyond simulators, our discovery flights and licence training put you at the controls of a real fixed-wing aircraft alongside a licensed instructor. Even the AAP includes a real light-aircraft trial flight. See discovery flights →
What licences can I train towards?
We support the full pathway: First Solo, Sport Pilot Licence (SPL), SPL-to-PPL conversion, Private Pilot Licence (PPL), and Cadet Pilot Preparation for airline cadet selection. Licences themselves are issued by the relevant aviation authority; we prepare and train you to their standard.
Flight training & instructors
Who are the instructors?
Training is led by current and experienced airline pilots and certified flight instructors. You learn airline standard operating procedures, discipline and safety culture from people who fly the line — not just theory from a textbook.
Where does training take place?
Flight training is conducted at our partner facilities in Zhuhai in the Greater Bay Area, with administration and ground activities based in Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong. Some programmes involve cross-border travel to the Mainland — see the logistics questions below.
Do you guarantee I'll pass or get hired?
No — and be cautious of anyone who does. Training outcomes depend on your own performance, weather, and the decisions of regulators and airlines, which are outside our control. What we guarantee is airline-standard preparation and honest feedback. Past results are history, not a promise of your result.
What is FlightdeckQ?
FlightdeckQ is a separate AI revision platform for type-rated and line-flying pilots — it finds the gaps in your aircraft-systems knowledge and tells you what to revise, so you stay sharp for six-monthly simulator checks and line checks. It's not a cadet-prep tool. Learn about FlightdeckQ →
Safety & risk
Is flight training safe?
Safety is our first priority, and we train to airline-grade standards with licensed instructors and maintained aircraft. That said, you should understand clearly that all aviation and aviation-related activities carry inherent risk — up to and including serious injury or death — which cannot be fully eliminated. By enrolling, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept these risks. Please read our Terms & Conditions in full.
Do I need to be medically fit?
You are responsible for being medically and physically fit to take part, and for disclosing any condition that could affect your safety or others'. For licence-track training, the relevant aviation authority may require a formal medical assessment. Instructors may decline or stop any session on safety grounds.
Do I need my own insurance?
We strongly recommend you arrange your own personal accident, medical and travel insurance covering aviation training activities — including cover for Mainland China where relevant. You take part at your own risk regardless of any insurance in place.
Location, travel & logistics
What documents do I need for cross-border training?
For activities in Mainland China (e.g. Zhuhai), you'll need your HKID and a valid Home Return Permit (回鄉證), or an appropriate visa. You're responsible for holding valid travel documents; without them, entry may be refused.
How do we get to Zhuhai?
Programmes that cross the border are run with licensed cross-border coaches via the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge, with travel insurance included on those transfers. For the AAP study tour, the HZMB Gold Bus fare is not included and is arranged individually.
What languages do you teach in?
We deliver programmes in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Let us know your preference when you enrol.
Fees, refunds & policies
What's your refund policy?
All fees are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances, because aircraft, fuel, instructor time and training slots are committed as soon as you enrol. Where we cancel a session for weather or operational reasons, your remedy is a rescheduled session, not a refund. Please read the full Refund Policy before enrolling.
How long are my training hours valid?
Training hours, lessons and entitlements must generally be used within 12 months of enrolment unless we extend this in writing. After that, unused hours lapse. Full details are in the Refund Policy.
