HKPAPA was pleased to organise an aviation workshop, co-organised by Inspire Education Association, for students from S.K.H. St. Simon’s Lui Ming Choi Secondary School and ELCHK Lutheran Academy. The session brought together conversations with a professional pilot and practical opportunities to discover an unfamiliar field.
Listening, thinking and asking questions
The captain shared flying experience and stories from aviation training. Interactive games introduced the importance of memory, concentration and responding to changing situations, giving students a way to connect those ideas with the work of a pilot.
Students also tried operating a flight simulator and gained an introductory view of aviation training and developments in the industry. Inspire Education Association’s recap describes an engaged group, with students asking questions and showing interest in flight knowledge and aviation technology.

Helping students explore their interests
For HKPAPA, a school workshop creates space for discovery. Meeting a professional, seeing unfamiliar equipment and asking questions can make a subject more approachable. Students can take that experience back to the classroom as a starting point for further learning and reflection.
Thank you to Inspire Education Association for co-organising the workshop, and to both schools, their teachers and students for participating. We appreciate the curiosity and energy everyone brought to the session, and the opportunity to share a closer view of aviation.
