Self-Sponsored Airbus A320 / A321 Type Rating & Line Training Programme
For Hong Kong–based pilots, career progression opportunities at the low-hour stage are extremely limited. Outside of direct entry into Cathay Pacific or HK Express, there are few viable pathways for low-time CPL holders to access a jet flight deck. Hong Kong has no meaningful general aviation industry to provide hour-building opportunities, while overseas airlines are generally unwilling to sponsor work visas for low-hour foreign pilots and prioritise their local workforce.
Similarly, Second Officers who have not progressed through upgrade, or who are constrained by P2X hour requirements, often find themselves with no realistic onward pathway within the local system.
This programme is offered as a structured alternative for pilots who are determined to continue their professional flying careers. It provides a credible pathway into Airbus A320/A321 operations with one of the largest airlines in the Middle East, following an airline-aligned type-rating and line-training model. This is not a shortcut. It is intended for pilots who recognise the realities of the industry and are prepared to invest in themselves when conventional pathways have been exhausted.

Programme Overview
This programme follows an internationally recognised airline-aligned model in which low-hour CPL pilots undertake an Airbus A320/A321 Type Rating and subsequent line-oriented training through approved training and operational frameworks. Candidates contribute to training costs while progressing through a structured, performance-based pathway aligned with airline operating standards.
