Profile

Our founder, Steven, has mentored over 1,000 students from 60 different nations. In 2018, in recognition of his achievement, the oldest aviation organisation in the world — The Air League — awarded him the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip Flying Bursary, making him the first Asian to receive this prestigious award at St James's Palace. Steven is also the first Asian pilot to fly for the largest European airline group.

Steven flew the Airbus fleet as an airline pilot for a leading Asian airline group. It was his dream to become a pilot after spending his childhood watching planes take off and land from Kwun Tong Ferry Pier, where his late grandmother resided. Growing up in poverty and living with dyslexia, he once gave that dream up altogether.

Prior to becoming a pilot, Steven grew up in the United Kingdom, where he served as an active member of the community. He was instrumental to the London 2012 Olympic Games, where he served as a young mayor, Olympic ambassador and torchbearer. Steven also received the Princess Diana Award in 2009 for his community work.

Back in Hong Kong, his continued work developing young people was recognised in 2024 by the Secretary for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Commendation Scheme, acknowledging his contribution to nurturing local aviation talent and to youth service.
