Spatial orientation
Connect GYRO and RBI indications to aircraft position.
- Read the GYRO heading, then the RBI bearing relative to the aircraft nose. Select both an aircraft heading and its zone around the beacon.
- Add heading and relative bearing to find bearing TO the beacon. Reverse that bearing by 180 degrees to locate the aircraft FROM the beacon.
- The RBI needle points toward the station; the answer compass describes the aircraft position around the station. Confusing these produces a reciprocal error.
