VOR navigation
Interpret radials, selected courses and TO/FROM.
- Select an OBS course and intercept inbound to the fictional station, then observe the indication through station passage.
- A radial is a direction FROM a station. Distinguish the radial from the course you intend to fly. Review the ground trail alongside CDI movement.
- Confusing an inbound course with the same-numbered radial can reverse the intended geometry. Station passage has an ambiguity region.
Session format
Idealised VOR geometry with a 0.2 NM ambiguity zone. A common magnetic reference is used; no real radio facilities or signal errors are simulated.
